Yu-li Wang's Cell Dynamics Laboratory
Dynamic movements represent a fundamental aspect of live cells.
The central mission of this laboratory is to understand the mechanisms
involved in driving and regulating whole-cell and intracellular
movements. We analyze molecular behavior in living cells
with a combination of powerful molecular biological,
biochemical, biophysical, micromanipulational,
and digital imaging techniques.
Current studies are focused on the mechanisms of cell migration and division.
The knowledge will provide a solid foundation for understanding basic cellular
functions and for treating many health-related problems including cancer, birth
defects, cardiovascular diseases, and nerve degeneration.
